Moje zdanie jest takie, że z Editors nagle gdzieś uleciało powietrze. Albo jest go po prostu mniej. Jednak nie przekreślam ich, bo pomimo braku energii, "An End Has A Start" to, w gruncie rzeczy, płyta dobra i godna uwagi. Zatem czekam na album nr 3. Chodzi o to, by porwać atmosferą oraz zainteresować zgrabnymi utworami. Kwartet zaś po prostu nudzi. Nie idzie do przodu, tylko stoi w miejscu. A w muzyce bezruch jest równoznaczny z regresem.... więcej »

Tom Smith ma cudowny głos a metaliczne gitary Chrisa Urbanowicza wciąż potrafią wywołać dreszcze, po prostu umknęła gdzieś magia i radiowe (w tym przypadku to komplement) melodie. I w zasadzie tylko tyle. A może aż tyle.... więcej »

Editors moja miłość! Tak napisałem przy okazji ich bardzo udanego debiutu "The Back Room". Nie zmieniam zdania po wielokrotnym przesłuchaniu "An End Has A Start", ale jeśli pójdą tą samą drogą na trzeciej płycie, to się zawaham.... więcej »

An End Has a Start is simply not the best album Editors are capable of putting together. Hopefully it's just a sophomore slump and not, in fact, the beginning of the end.... więcej »

The undulating sharpness of Bones and Escape the Nest shows that Editors aren't about to go gently into that good night, but the maturity of Smokers Outside the Hospital Door, with its cascading guitars and hesitant choir, and the unabashed tenderness of Push Your Head Towards the Air see the band growing up gracefully.... więcej »

It's a shame that premature commercial success has sullied Editors' creativity, because An End contains its share of bright spots. However, that "weight" Smith is feeling probably stems from a sudden need to bolster the band's sound proportionately with their massive fame, a move that a group like the Arcade Fire could pull off on a follow-up album, but not a Joy Division/Interpol/U2 cut-and-paste effort like Editors.... więcej »

Which is unfortunate, as most of the songs here, lifelined to so many other, better Brit-rock acts though they may be, are uniformly stronger, well-developed, and reach higher than anything on the Editors' Mercury-nominated debut.... więcej »

the songs get puffed and fluffed up but lose the wiry edge of "Munich," burying Chris Urbanowicz's guitar until it all sounds like Coldplay. Nice tunes, but louder, please.... więcej »

An End Has A Start proves to be depressing, bleak and unfortunately, rather repetitive. It shows a lot of potential, just next time, the band could do with stretching out a little and experimenting with different structures and soundscapes.... więcej »

Editors have become a different sort of bully, pummeling the listener to the point where they obscure the line between character and caricature, between catharsis and sheer exhaustion. Give J.
